EVO | singularity one
EVO is a minimalist sculpture that, like many of my works, fuses geometric precision with organic fluidity.
Through abstraction, it explores the origins of life: Which came first, the egg or the chicken? Did birds evolve from dinosaurs? What precedes what - light or darkness, art or the artist?
EVO invites contemplation of the universe as a constantly evolving entity. It reminds us that life is not static, but in perpetual transformation. At the same time, it challenges the viewer to imagine the shape of things to come - and to reflect on our role in shaping that future.
This uniqe version was crafted from reclaimed sucupira wood and MDF (wood fibreboard), EVO features a handcrafted black finish enriched with a distinctive maroon patina. This contrast of materials and tones echoes the tension between past and future, nature and design.

• Artist’s note on interpretation
The egg-shaped body becomes a symbol of origin — not just biological, but metaphysical. Above it, the dark, antler-like form evokes a bird in flight, yet also hints at a dinosaur’s silhouette — a visual ambiguity that mirrors evolutionary uncertainty. And the supporting element, subtly placed at the side, becomes the pisiform: a small, often overlooked bone that played a pivotal role in the transition from dinosaurs to birds, and whose quiet role opens the question of whether evolution, at times, means taking a step back.
