FACINGTIME

Introducing FACINGTIME, a captivating wall sculpture that delves into the intricacies of human perception of time. This abstract artwork features a partially carved face, evoking the ambiguity of a clock display or perhaps something more profound.

Crafted from recycled wood board, each piece is finished using a unique coloring technique that I’ve developed. This technique creates a textured surface in rich black tones, reminiscent of cast black metal. Depending on the angle of light, subtle shades of rust emerge, adding depth and complexity to the piece.

Human perception of time is a fascinating phenomenon. Our brains interpret time through a combination of sensory inputs and cognitive processes, making it a deeply subjective experience. Factors such as attention, emotion, and context can significantly influence how we perceive the passage of time. This sculpture invites viewers to reflect on their own temporal experiences, blending art and perception into a singular, thought-provoking encounter.

In the context of urban life, FACINGTIME resonates with the relentless pace and constant evolution of city environments. Urban art often mirrors the dynamic and transient nature of city living, capturing moments that are both fleeting and eternal. This piece serves as a reminder of the ever-changing urban landscape, encouraging viewers to pause and contemplate the passage of time amidst the hustle and bustle of daily life.
