DESH

DESH is a minimalist sculpture that invites contemplation through its interplay of geometric abstraction and tonal contrast. Composed of hand-finished wood fibreboard in deep black hues, subtly distressed with a maroon patina, these elements stand in quiet tension against carved forms of oxidized beech wood, whose warm tones evoke a sense of aged depth and organic resonance.

In a moment of unintended symmetry, DESH reveals the number ten - twice. The wooden elements at its base suggest the numeral in one orientation, while the black forms echo it when the piece is inverted. This dual reading was not premeditated, but emerged naturally from the intuitive process that guides much of my work. Meaning, as always, follows form.

DESH is a unique object of quiet intensity, crafted with precision and openness. It speaks to those who find beauty in abstraction, and who value the subtle dialogue between art, design, and craft.
