TREZE_b01

180.00

Handcrafted sculpture TREZE_b01 features an abstract shape, apparently organic, but was is in fact originated by precise geometry rules.
The captivating unique texture displaying a deep black with shades of a reddish brown patina, is achieved by a hand-dyeing technique that I have developed. Each piece is unique and a singular work of art.

The art object is made up of two different elements, a larger black element, carved from recycled wood fibreboard and a smaller element made out of hand-dyed pine wood, which acts as a support allowing the sculpture to stand.

About TREZE sculptures:

• TREZE is the portuguese word for "thirteen", a number that carries with it a wealth of cultural and symbolic associations - for some, this number represents luck, while for others, it symbolizes misfortune.

• With this growing collection of original sculptures, I look to explores this dichotomy by bringing different shapes that can be interpreted as the mirrored number thirteen

Dimensions (approximately):

• Height: 58cm (23in)
• Width: 25cm (10in)

Craft and Materials:

• Born from a unique blend of hand-dyeing and CNC carving to achieve an abstract shape that is apparently organic, but was is in fact originated by precise geometry rules. The original coloring technique consists on multiple steps hand-dyeing to achieve a deep, textured black with a distinctive reddish brown patina.

• This method ensures that this piece is faithful to its original design but also bears the unique signature of its creation process, making it a singular work of art.

• Crafted from pine wood, recycled wood fibreboard, non-toxic dyes and varnish, this piece embodies both sustainability and artistic expression.
