TREZE_tc01
This decorative arts object is made up of two different elements, a large element carved from recycled wood fibreboard dyed in tones of terracotta, and a smaller element made out of pine wood, which acts as a support, allowing the sculpture to stand.
About TREZE sculptures:
TREZE is the portuguese word for "thirteen", a number that carries with it a wealth of cultural and symbolic associations - for some, this number represents luck, while for others, it symbolizes misfortune.
With this growing collection of original sculptures, I look to explores this dichotomy by bringing different shapes that can be interpreted as the mirrored number thirteen

Craft and Materials:
Born from a unique blend of hand-dyeing and CNC carving to achieve an abstract shape that is apparently organic, but was is in fact originated by precise geometry rules. The original coloring technique consists on multiple steps hand-dyeing to achieve a deep, textured black with a distinctive reddish brown patina.
This method ensures that this piece is faithful to its original design but also bears the unique signature of its creation process, making it a singular work of art.
Crafted from pine wood, recycled wood fibreboard, non-toxic dyes and varnish, this piece embodies both sustainability and artistic expression.
